DELRAY BEACH, FL, United States, via ETELIGIS INC., 11/11/2014 – – Protext Mobility (OTC Pink: TXTM) (PINKSHEETS: TXTM) (“Protext Mobility” or the “Company”), a solutions developer of innovative and trusted applications to the mobile communications market, today announced it has entered into a binding letter of intent with a U.S. based insurance broker to jointly market the Company’s distracted driving solution targeting the billion dollar insurance market. The partnership and marketing agreement has been created to offer insurance discounts for drivers and/or fleet owners who install DriveAlert, an application that utilizes the Company’s OBD-II technology, aimed at curbing the Distracted Driving epidemic with an emphasis on texting and driving.
A Harvard risk analysis study estimated the annual cost of crashes caused by cell phone use while driving to be $43 Billion. Nearly all States now have a law that bans drivers from texting while driving; and in many States, it is a primary offense where violators can face fines of hundreds of dollars as well as points on their license. “Companies are now being held accountable in lawsuits related to distracted drivers in company vehicles, and even while using a company provided mobile device,” stated Steve Berman, CEO of Protext Mobility. “The purpose of this partnership is to offer eligible drivers a discount on their insurance by installing our text blocking solution, and providing a copy of the receipt to the insurance broker as proof of purchase. Only essential call functionalities such as 911 emergency calls and/or incoming calls from selected pre-installed numbers are permitted while the application is in use.” Additional details about this partnership will be announced prior to the campaign launch, which is anticipated by the end of the month.
“With our recently issued U.S. Patent No. 8,880,107 for ‘Systems and Methods for Monitoring Communications,’ we are seeing an increasing level of interest in our DriveAlert solution from several large retailers and independently operated mobile phone stores. We are encouraged by these discussions and continue working towards expanding distribution of DriveAlert through various channels,” continued Mr. Berman.
